Movie Plot: On the news that she is on the death of her Caucasian father, returning to her hometown of Vancouver, Rebecca learns before she dies that her aboriginal mother Rita had not left her twenty-five years ago because Rita did not love Rebecca. Thus, Rebecca goes on a search for Rita on Vancouver’s notorious city east side, where many aboriginal women who have been marginalized in society for years have been found dead, in the mysterious but murky circumstance of living alone in their single room.
