Plot- Lightning McQueen and other legendary rascals in the Pistons Cup racing series are suddenly struggling to win against next-generation rogues like Jackson Storm, who use advanced technology and modern training methods. As Storm’s breakout success attracts other creators of the series, most veterans are either retired or fired to make way for the new generation. In the final race of the season, McQueen tried his best to overtake the Storm, but lost control and suffered from a violent accident, which left him badly injured.
Four months later, McQueen is still recovering in Radiator Springs, separating herself from her friends and spending her time watching footage of her late mentor Doc Hudson. After receiving some encouragement from his girlfriend Sally, McQueen decides to return to racing and invites his sponsors rusty, Rusty and Dusty, who reveal that he has sold the team to a new owner named Sterling. In a new cutting-edge training center, Sterling trained McQin to train racing trainer Cruz Ramirez. McQueen struggles to adapt cruz’s modern methods and damages a costly simulator in the process, so Sterling tries to force him into retirement. McQueen offers a deal: If he can win the first race of the season, he can continue the race as long as he wants; Otherwise, he will retire immediately. Sterling is worried about damaging McQueen’s marketism, but accepts the deal, but asks Cruz to join him.
