Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki) is the captain of a South Korean special force unit. He and his friend Master Sergeant SEO Da-Young (Jin Guo) get out of duty when they see a young man stealing a motorcycle and catching him. The thief, Kim Gi-Bam (Kim Min-sok), is injured during his capture and is therefore sent to the hospital. DA-Young finds out that his cell phone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital with C-Jin to retrieve his cellphone.

In the emergency room, Si-jin is the first Dr. Kang meets Mo-yon (Song Hy-Koo), and is immediately attracted to him. Mo-Euon is accidentally part of the criminal gang of C-gin thieves, nicknamed “The Big Boss” Because of that, that’s actually his call sign. He proves his identity with the help of army surgeon Yun Myung-ju (Kim Ji-ji).

Si-jin and Mo-yeon start dating, but because Si-jin is called for duty, their dates are halved. C-Jin receives his orders to be deployed on a peace mission in the country of Urumqi (possibly an imaginary representation of Iraq). Meanwhile, Mo-Yon is upset as she passed on to a professor in favor of a colleague who had a family relationship with hospital management. When C-Jin comes back and meets Mo-Yon again, he asks him directly to tell him about his sudden disappearance and his job but he is unable to go into too much detail due to the highly classified nature of his assignment. They talk about their thoughts on life and feel how different they are. C-Jin, as a soldier, protects life as a doctor to protect Mo-Yon, respects the Hippocratic pledge and tries to save lives. Due to their philosophical differences, they agree to participate. On the other hand, DA-Young faces a dilemma to continue his relationship with Myung-ju or is a general commander and commander of special forces, who are at risk of being taken out of the army by Myung-ju’s father to break the fraternal rules.
