In 1969 in Los Angeles, actor Rick Dalton, former star of the 1950s Western television series Bounty Law, found his career faltering due to ongoing alcoholism issues. Dalton lay down at Cliff Booth for his best friend and stunt double, that his career ended. Booth, a war veteran who lives in an outrageous trailer next to a drive-in van Nuyes, strives to boost Dalton’s confidence. Meanwhile, actress Sharon Tate and her husband Roman Polanski have moved to Dalton’s home next door. Dalton hopes to use Polanski to befriend the couple and restore his key figure status.
During the one-day holiday, Booth placed a young hitchhiker in Dalton’s car, which took him to the span ranch. She insists she lives with Charles Manson and meets her, but doubts over a large number of hippie properties at the booth, as she once worked with owner George Span. She now insists on seeing blind despite the objections of women; Span dismissed Booth’s suspicions that he was being exploited and asked to leave. Returning to his car, booth finds out that one of the front tyres has been popped with a knife; He beat Steve Grogan fiercely, the young man is responsible and forces him to change the tyres. One of the women takes Tex Watson to handle the situation, but with Watson’s arrival, the booth is already running away.
