Movie Plot: In the late 1800’s, retired Timberman Ephraim Winslo is sent on a boat with an irrelevant elderly person named Thomas Wake to serve a contract job as a Vick for four months on an isolated island. On the first day of his job, Winslow noticed that he had a hole in his cot. As he digs into it, he finds a small wooden statue of a mermaid and fills it in his jacket. Wake by Wakeslow is regarded as a strange and superstitious companion, going to the top of the lighthouse at night and snatching naked. Vinslo decided to close it, but it was pulled towards the sea. He sees the stumps of the tree floating in the water as well as with the frightening image of a mermaid in the deep. Then he wakes up, it exposes it to be a dream. During his stay, Winslow has been allocated more taxable jobs – refilling the light, stirring up the oil barracks, carrying heavy kerosene containers, and disposing of the pots of the two men’s chamber. As the week progresses, Winslow becomes more and more curious as Wake’s obsession with light.
